What is God up to?
Dear Friends,
God is always at work, all around us.
This truth shapes the narrative of the Bible. In the beginning, God created everything that is. As history unfolded, God called Israel to reveal divine goodness to the world. At just the right time, Jesus came to redeem his creation. And in the end, as the book of Revelation shows, God is there, actively setting all things right. All God’s initiative; all God’s work.
But divine power isn’t reserved for the bold, broad strokes of history. Jesus is at work every day in dinner parties, hospital rooms, high school gyms and Publix parking lots! Even in our most challenging situations, God is powerfully present and up to something good. When the Spirit gives us eyes to see we notice more and more the things our Creator and Sustainer is doing, right under our noses.
So, what is God up to you in your life today? How is the Holy Spirit jostling, teaching, or saving you? And how is Jesus asking you to take part in the work he is doing here and now?
Together, let’s discover what God is up to – and ask how we can take part in that work, bringing love, healing and hope to an aching world. It’s an adventurous way to live, and it’s a joy to do it together.
Warmly,
The Rev. Susan R. Beebe
