Get Ready for the Best Week of Summer

Dear Friends,

We are busy preparing for one of the most fun and exciting weeks of the year: Vacation Bible School! This year’s theme, Snowball Mountain Challenge, is based on Philippians 4:13, NRSV: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” This verse reminds us that God’s strength through Jesus can help us face challenges.

Through stories from the Old and New Testaments, Challengers (campers) will learn that with the strength God provides through Jesus, they can do more than they ever dreamed they could do. This understanding deepens their relationship with God and enables them to share the love and strength God offers with others.

It takes many hands to make VBS a success. We are looking for passionate volunteers who are eager to lead, serve, and help build a welcoming environment. We are looking for volunteers to serve in the following roles after completing the required safety training:

Station Assistants: These volunteers help the Station Leaders gather supplies, assist Challengers, and reset between group sessions.

Guides and Assistant Guides: These leaders shepherd the Challengers safely between stations. Because of the constant interaction, strong bonds form with Challengers.

Snowball Mountain Challenge Volunteers: These volunteers fit in wherever needed.

This is a wonderful opportunity for adults, parents, and teenagers to be part of this important ministry. The best experience to bring to these roles is a heart to serve and love of working with children.

VBS is more than just summer fun; it is a vital part of Bethesda’s ministry for children and youth centered on Christ, Community, and Connection. VBS builds a community of wonder through Bible stories, crafts, recreation, music, and science activities. This year’s Snowball Mountain Challenge will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26, 2026.

Interested in helping make God’s love known in a child’s life and being part of the VBS fun? Please reach out to me at strainge@bbts.org or call 561-928-0744. Thank you for your support and prayers to make this year’s VBS a faith-filled and memorable experience for our children.

Blessings,

Deb Strainge
