“Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.” Psalm 33:8
Dear Friends,
I still remember my first and only visit to the Grand Canyon. Standing at its edge, I felt several things at once: wonder at its immensity, exhilaration at the view, and a healthy fear of the heights! For a moment, I could only stand in silence. I had seen photographs, but none had prepared me for the experience of being there. It is one thing to see a postcard; it is another to stand in awe of the beauty of God’s creation.
This Sunday, we launch Awe, our new service at 5:00 p.m. Our hope is to offer an invitation to encounter God for ourselves. Our hope is that this will not be a postcard experience but an opportunity to glimpse the wideness of God’s mercy and respond with wonder, gratitude, and praise.
By candlelight, with music led by piano and cello, we will lift our voices in song. There will be space to be still, to wait, listen, pray, and remember that God is near. We will hear Scripture and gather at the table of Holy Communion to encounter the real presence of Christ.
Wherever you find yourself in your journey of faith, you are welcome. Bring your joys, your questions, and your burdens. You do not need to have everything figured out to come into God’s presence. Our prayer is that, as we turn our attention toward Christ, we will find restoration, renewal, and grace for the week ahead.
I would love for you to join us and to consider whom you might invite to come with you. Perhaps you know someone who is curious about faith, looking for a church home, or simply longing for a quiet place to pray. A personal invitation can make it easier to take that first step through the door.
Please pray that God’s Spirit will guide this new beginning and help us become a community where our neighbors can “come and see” who Jesus is.
Join us this Sunday at 5:00 p.m. as we begin this new chapter of worship together.
With gratitude and anticipation,
Fr. Rob
