Joy to the world! The Lord is come.

Dear Friends,

Happy Second Day of Christmas!

Celebrating the nativity of our Lord is far too glorious for just a single day. At Bethesda, we keep the centuries-old tradition of celebrating for twelve days. And what better reason to keep the party going than the good news that God loves us so much, Jesus came to live among us, as one of us.

How do we sustain the joy? By sharing mulled cider and Christmas cookies after every service this Sunday; offering Christmas Lessons and Carols at 11 a.m.; and keeping our campus beautifully decorated throughout the season. And of course, our Christmas season concludes with The Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festival, that fabulous Twelfth-Night pageant that leads into our next season of celebration: Epiphany.

This Christmas, we have so much to rejoice about. Let’s give thanks for traditions that keep us celebrating the Good News of Jesus for weeks to come.

Joy to the world, indeed! And joy to you and yours this Christmastide.

Warmly,

The Rev. Susan R. Beebe
