At the center of our youth’s faith formation lies our Youth Confirmation Class. This year-long program is divided into two distinct, but complimentary, components. Under the leadership of Father Van Culin throughout the Fall semester our youth explore the "Kerygma" (proclamation) of our faith. Together our Confirmands will read and explore the meaning of foundational stories of Christianity. Beginning with the stories of Creation, the youth will be asked not only to remember what the story actually says, but what it means, as we ask such questions as Who is God, who are we, and how are we called to live.
In the Spring, under the guidance of Dr. Cogan, Confirmands turn their attention to the "Didache" - the teachings of our faith. With a firm grasp of the great stories of our faith, they will explore the principal teachings and practices of Anglican tradition, as they discuss such topics as the Doctrine of God, the Doctrine of Salvation, the Sanctification of Time, and the sacraments of the church.
The year concludes with a Saturday rehearsal and oral exam at which our youth
are expected to recite the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles’ Creed, the Ten
Commandments, and the Summary of the Law.
