How would you like to join us on a trip to the Kennedy Space Center to watch the next shuttle launch? Space Shuttle Discovery is scheduled to roll out onto the launch pad late November as technicians ready the vehicle for a december launch window. The launch will take place December 7th 2006. This launch may be a night launch which offers the most spectacular view as the Kennedy Space Center flight crew re-enter into the exploration of space.

It is a 2.5hour drive to the Kennedy Space Center in Cocoa Beach. The launch is subject to weather conditions and is often scrubbed during the last 15 minutes if there are mechanical difficulties. The excitement of seeing a launch in person is awe inspiring. To see such human achievement in person knowing the risks the crew takes each time in the name of exploration is beyond words. A night launch is all the more exciting as the night sky lights up from the glow of the rocket boosters. Let us know if you are interested in helping plan for this event. We meet each week in the Guild Room after the 10:00am Sunday service.
