The Episcopal Church follows a three-year course of Bible passages read at Sunday services. For each Sunday, the Revised Common Lectionary appoints a reading from the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testatment), a Psalm, a reading from the Christian Scriptures (the New Testament), and a reading from one of the four Gospels. On some Sundays, the Lectionary provides some choice. The appointed readings help us to hear the entire breadth of God's Word to us and help us to enter into the spirit of different seasons of the Church year.
Anyone may find the appointed readings at The Lectionary Page. This page also provides the suggested readings for weddings, funerals, and other occasions.
