Dear Prospective Bride & Groom,
Christian Marriage is a holy calling which both evokes the Church's responsibility to the engaged couple and draws them to a heightened perception of God as the creative center of their relationship. We view marriage as a sacrament properly based within the context of a worshiping community.
Normally, the weddings which occur here are between persons who, themselves or through a close family member, have a background of active membership in and financial support of this parish. In the case of non-members who wish to apply to be married here, I would expect a history of regular attendance at worship, active participation in the life of this parish, and attendance at Confirmation and Inquirers’ Classes. The clergy are available to speak with you regarding any questions you may have about this parish.
All engaged couples who are planning to be married here are required to receive premarital instruction. This usually involves a total of four or five meetings, including the rehearsal. In order that there be adequate time for this instruction, we expect a ninety-day period between acceptance of the engaged couple’s request and the date of the ceremony.
Should you need further information see
Requirements and Photography Rules , and you may call Elise Moloney.
Sincerely,
(The Rev.) Ralph R. Warren, Jr., D.D.
