PASTORAL CARE OPPORTUNITIES AT BETHESDA

Mondays

Intercessory Prayer Group
Monday mornings from 11:00-12:00 in the Library

Enhance your prayer life. See God at work in your life and in the world.

Each session begins with a short guided meditation then transitions into prayer. Prayers are offered for Bethesda, those on our church prayer list, our country, the leaders of all nations, peace in the world, our family, friends and our own concerns.

Please join us as we witness the power of prayer. Be enriched as you experience God's response to your prayer.

The Men of Bethesda
The MOB provides an opportunity for all men of Bethesda to have Christian fellowship in an environment of prayer, caring, support, sharing and action.

The MOB generally meets on the 1st Monday of every month from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in Parish Hall. Join us for coffee, donuts and fellowship!

Tuesdays

Spiritual Growth Group
Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11:30 in the Library

Has a Bible verse spoken to you recently? The Spiritual Growth Group lets a Bible verse speak directly to each participant. This exercise is a time-honored approach known as Lectio Divina, which is a model for Bible Study and Prayer. Come and join us. What will this week's Bible verse say to you?

Inquirers Class and Preparation for Adult Confirmation, Reception or Reaffirmation
This course will survey the faith and worship of the Episcopal Church from the early Church thru today, and explore the meaningful ways in which the Christian faith may be expressed by adults in a contemporary setting. This class is led by Father Warren. If you are interested in attending the next Inquirers Class please advise Father Warren or Phyllis Goodner.

Sundays

Flower Ministry

Each Sunday, following the last service, the flowers are removed from the High Altar and are transformed into small arrangements which are then taken to those hospitalized or homebound.

We hope these flowers bring something of the Peace and Blessing of God's House, and let our recipients know that they were prayed for and remain a part of Bethesda.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs)

At the close of each Sunday Eucharist, one of more members of our congregation recesses with a small communion kit. These dedicated ministers have expressed an interest in visiting the ill, informing them of our love for them, and bringing communion to them. LEMs have received training, licensing by the Bishop and the blessing of this congregation to represent us in visiting those who cannot share the Eucharist with us, in person, each Sunday. LEMs offer a spiritual connection between those who are unable to attend services and those who participate in the worship service.

Prayer to Send Forth Lay Eucharistic Ministers:

"In the name of this congregation, we send you forth bearing these holy gifts, that those to whom you go may share with us in the communion of Christ’s body and blood. We who are many are one body, because we all share one bread, one cup. Amen"

Do You Know of Someone in Need?
If you know of someone who is ill, hospitalized or otherwise in need of prayer or a visit, please let the church know.
