Most parents have had the amusing and perhaps awkward experience of having a child ask those grand, unanswerable questions. Those grand questions about God—about the meaning of life, about the goodness of humanity, about how people of faith deal with suffering in our lives and in the world—are best addressed, not with a pat answer, but with the practice of wondering, exploring, and discovering more about ourselves and God together.
Bethesda is a community of faith seeking understanding (to use the term of St. Anselm). In other words we try to avoid believing that we have ever learned everything we need to know about our relationship with God. And we invest our resources and our heart in helping our children and youth cultivate a lifelong thirst for spiritual growth and learning.
Bethesda offers rich learning opportunities for Children, Youth, and Adults that speak to all aspects of our life of faith. The accompanying pages provide information about our education programs. All are welcome to participate and join in a life of learning and growth in faith.
