Hello to everyone from the board of your ECW!
Just a few reminders about your ECW… All women of the church make up the Episcopal Church Women or in other words, E C W. I know all of you certainly should know this by now and if not, well then, welcome to your ECW!!! We offer you a coffee and light breakfast fare every Sunday and in February we will host a forum to discuss the plans for all of the upcoming ECW happenings as well as an overall theme of Anglican Women and our place in the world. This all takes place on our very own holiday within the church known as ECW Sunday. If you are interested in helping Deborah Hale-Hagy with the buffet on that morning please give her a call or if you would like to usher during one of our three services that day please call me. There is something literally every month held by your ECW. It really is amazing what gets accomplished. Just to touch on a few things to look forward to, please note that we have planned for: an ECW Habitat For Humanity on the morning of Saturday, March 3rd; Lenten Lunches with homemade soups provided by the ECW; a kitchen party (restocking the church kitchen) during the month of April; our fabulous spring fundraiser "A Taste Of Bethesda" featuring the Island’s finest restaurants and hotels right here in the Garth for us all to sample. To close out the season, we are looking to offer a Health Fair in conjunction with our Spring General Membership Luncheon. Lastly, we look to develop a strategic plan for the ECW so that it remains vibrant, strong, and nourished by volunteers such as you. Let your Board know your thoughts. We cannot move forward without you.
Did you know that there are now recycle bins placed strategically around the church premises? Do your part and recycle whenever possible. Thanks to Phyllis Goodner, ECW Board Member, we are "seeing green" at Bethesda!!!
Peace and God bless,
Jodie McC. Payne
