What is Cursillo?
Cursillo, (a Spanish word meaning "a short course") is a movement of the church. The purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual callings to be Christian Leaders. It is a help in their Spiritual Journey.
The meaning of the "short course" is two fold in that besides being a Three Day Weekend course, it is also known as a running course or track to living as Christian witnesses.
The Cursillo method starts, however, with the Fourth Day. This is when what was learned over the weekend is put into action. Cursillo is a tool for "equipping the saints for the work of ministry" to take active Christian men and women who want to serve the Lord in an intentional way and showing them how.
There is an active community of parishioners from Bethesda who have attended the three day weekend who are known as Cursillistas. For those parishioners who would like to participate in a weekend, and who have not been invited by a Cursillista, please see Zoe Stout who will see that a sponsor is found who will help guide you through the process.
