The stated Mission of Adult Education at Bethesda-by-the-Sea is to enhance spiritual growth in the Christian Faith and foster an examination and appreciation of religious understanding and experience. These goals are accomplished by providing informative, thoughtful, and stimulating educational programs that reflect both traditional and non-traditional approaches.
The Adult Education Program includes courses offered in the afternoons and evenings on the Bible, the Episcopal Church and being an Episcopalian, Church History, Theology, book discussions, Interfaith Dialogues, the Education For Ministry Program, and other topics.
In addition, each Sunday, between 10:10 and 10:50 am, the Adult Forum presents an opportunity to learn about and discuss topics of interest. These include health and wellness, issues facing the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, reports on activities by groups at Bethesda and in the wider community, opportunities for service, the Bible, practical moral issues, theological concerns, and a wide range of other matters.
